Default Sally Shapiro - Disco Romance

Wasn't sure exactly how to classify this. Indie'll do. Anybody heard this record, and if so, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Didn't even see this thread. I would've put it in Electronic, but whatever.

This album is a lot of fun. To give a brief description to those who don't know, Sally Shapiro is the pseudonym of a Swedish singer, and the album is basically Italo Disco only with your typical female Swedish Pop vocals. It's kind of this year's Pop guilty pleasure in that if it were a Kylie Minogue album or something everyone would hate it, but it's by some unknown Indie chick so everybody loves it.

Anyway, it's really good. I had posted a link in another thread, but it looks like it expired. :/

Yeah I listened to it to quite a few times, but I have to say, such a strange sound (em, Italo-disco is so 20 years ago which lands it in the much hated 80's) doesn't have a long lasting appeal. I doubt I'll be listening to much of it in the future. A fun diversion from really good records.

When I first heard about this I was expecting some kind of retro 60s lounge pop mixed with dance music , which I do have a soft spot for.

Sadly to me it just sounded like some 80s cheesy euro disco.

Major disappiontment.

That would be the definition of Italo-disco I believe.
