Andrew Bird
This thread is for those who love and appreciate Mr. Bird, those who are curious to listen, and for all of us eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming record, Armchair Apocrypha.
I like it, Scythian Empires is greatt.
The new album is super fucking good.
I've only heard the stuff on myspace. Its mediocre..nothing sticks out in particular for me.
I love Armchair Apocrypha...smooth and poppy. Anyone care to upload some more albums?
'Nervous Tick Motion to the Left' or whatever it's called is a good song.
My favorite Bird song is The Happy Birthday Song. Brilliant.
Anyone into his work with Dosh?
I find that "A Nervous Tic Motion Of The Head To The Left" consistently gets stuck in my head. I really like that song. I really like that album. I really like Andrew Bird.
Armchair and Mysterious Production of Eggs were very enjoyable listens.
I don't think the links still work, but if anyone has it, would they mind uploading Weather Systems? |
I am loving the stuff on the myspace page too...and alas the links are dead as a dodo...anyone up to re-up them?
love him.
i got into him earlier this summer. he was kind of my bright eyes replacement now that conor's a douchebag. but yeah, he's a nice whistler. and his voice is pretty. he was on conan last week. |
Armchair Apocrypha is insanely catchy but its really close to that glossy production that I can't stand but the songs are so well written that it doesn't really matter how they're presented. I should get around to listening to his other releases.
Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production Of Eggs is a great album. My personal favorite song off it is "Tables & Chairs," but every song is a standout.
The new album leaked!http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...lpower/yay.gif
Andrew Bird is amazing! He's probably one of my favorite artists right now. I saw him live last year, it was the best show I've been too. The man is unbelievably talented.
Anyone have a link to the new album? I didn't know it was leaked. |
I like it but I always like an Andrew Bird album for a week before becoming bored of it and never listening to it again.
^ same here =/
I was the opposite, it took me a while to figure out just how brilliant Armchair apocrypha was. I'm not sure what I think of this one yet but Not a robot has a bit of Radiohead in it doesn't it?
After first listen to the new album, I found it pretty boring. There wasn't really anything that stood out to me. I think Andrew Bird peaked with Mysterious Production of Eggs. Amrchair Apocrypha was a solid album showed some good signs but Noble Beast disappointed me.
This is just from first listen so my thoughts may change. Anyone else see that "The Privateers" has the same lyrics as "The Confession" from his album, Oh! The Grandeur? |
Fingerlings is the only thing I listen of his anymore.
...and Noble Beast. God, this is really good. anoanimal is probably the best track off of this one.
I couldn't get into this one at all. Maybe I'll give it another shot somewhere down the line...
Yeah, I still haven't gotten into this one. I'd say it's his weakest album yet.
His new album is amazing. It seems to be more of a progression of The Mysterious Production of Eggs than Armchair but its beautiful none the less.
Can't wait for his show in Dallas next month.
Andrew Bird
I think hes made some of the best folk music out there, from "Music of Hair" to "Noble Beast" i dont think he's made one album that i dont find amazing.I dig his violin playing, thats what i think made the music stand out the first time i heard it. It was something unique that i hadnt heard before. My favorite albums are his early ones like The swimming hour and music of hair, but Noble beast is probably my all-time favorite.
ah yes, here's a fantastic video of anonanimal live. this song kills me.
I like it when Dosh takes to the set. |
I'm seeing him an about a month too, should be a great show. I want to be blasted out of my skin by his whistling.
I was never able to get into Andrew Bird outside of & the Mysterious Production of Eggs. I regret paying for Armchair Apocrypha, to be honest.
My favorite artist discovery in possibly years.
