Conor is turning into quite the stage whore, thats why I'm hoping his solo album will be a little more stripped down and intimate. I have a feeling it's gonna sound alot like I'm Wide Awake though, which is where I think his music started to turn generic

Exactly how I felt about Cassadaga....just feels so out of character for Conor.

Cassadaga still doesn't feel like a full album to me, which my main complaint with it and still is. It has some truly wonderful tracks, but then some that I skip over every listen no matter what. Classic Cars is probably my favorite track from the album still, and if it were just a single I'd rant forever about it, but it gets caught between garble like Middleman and Make a Plan to Love Me.....it's hard to give the good tracks the credit they deserve.

My guess is you are talking about Four Winds and Hot Knives (if not one then the other), and both combined don't compare to the 10 minute consistent awesomeness of Lets Not **** Ourselves..

I just feel like Cassadaga was for the critics, not the fans.

And Thankyou. :)

He can't be a whiny teen forever, the tangent was greatly needed. Plus Cassadaga isn't as bad as people seem to make out, his christmas album even received more rapport =d

Digital Ash and Wide Awake were hardly the albums of a whiny teenager.

Best Songwriter: Conor Oberst: Bright Eyes : Rolling Stone

Also Conor produced the album and Andy LeMaster helped. The Mystic Valley Band is doing the backing stuff so go after those live shows! And the album was recorded in Mexico in Jan/Feb so it's done.
