He was soooo drunk at the show tonight. But im not sure whats with that interview the one I got he was blaming it on drugs. He also went on an anti-drug thing at the end.
After your sloppy performance at 2005's Glastonbury Festival, when you insulted late English DJ John Peel from the stage, heroin rumors started up. What Happened there? I was just fucked-up and talking nonsense. I had taken some mushrooms, and it was in the middle of this constant traveling and partying. I actually love what John Peel was all about and I regret defaming him, but it was supposed to be a joke. As for the rumors, I don't care; it just makes me sad that my mom might ever see anything like that. But the whole Digital Ash tour was a dark time-we had already done the whole world for the Wide Awake tour, came home, rehearsed day and night for two weeks and went back out. We were shot but couldn't stop. And it felt like the people maybe didnt understand the record and we had to go out and prove it to them. By the time we got to Europe, we were hitting on all cylinders. At Glastonbury, there'd been insane storms that washed away the whole site and we were the last band on that stage for the weekend. It was like walking into a war zone. We'd just flown in and didn't have any English money to buy food or drinks, so we made a poor decision. Its a shitty day-lets get really wasted and everything will be better. But as we know, that doesn't work and it just went from bad to worse. - SPIN April 2007 |

Back when I didn't know Bright Eyes from Hall and Oats, i picked up Lifted on the back of almost unanimous great reviews. It turned out to be great but since then I haven't really dug much that has come out save for a few spot songs I've heard along the way.
When I heard "Another Travelin' Song" I thought it was, as a total package, one of the best things I'd heard coming out of an acoustic guitar in awhile (that I wasn't already exposed to). After hearing "Four Winds" off of Cassadaga (sp?) I think I'm ready to pick up one of the two albums, either Wide Awake or Cassadage so Im wondering what you think would be more my style or what you think is the better album. Given that I like those two song, throw in that my favorite song off of Lifted is "Make War", any suggestions?
