Jens Lekman

Indie pop if I've heard any, I think. He's from sweeden so it has to be good and, it is. There's a split with Jose Gonzalez on albumbase. I think they set it up in a way that you can't rip off the link. I haven't listened to it yet anyway not sure if it's any good. I do have Oh You're So Silent Jens which I can up and is really good. I can't really describe it different from most indie- odd but good lyrics, solid instrumental and cool vocals.

Well, I just registered specifically to respond to this thread. I love Mr. Lekman. "Pocketful of Money" is an incredible song, as is that entire album.

an interesting voice - worth checking out for sure...

If you like Jens, check out Suburban Kids With Biblical Names - similar voices, with electronic music.

Someone To Share My Life With and Maples Leaves are beautiful and so is his voice. I'm loving Jens so much right now.

I can't get past that his name is so similar to a Goalkeeper who plays for Arsenal JENS LEHMANN and he is an arsehole...

Haha. It was around the time that Lehmann was playing so badly (before he was dropped) that Lekman's new album came out. When I saw the title on the first review I checked out (I'd never come across Lekman before), I instinctly read it as Lehmann. And, while knowing it could not be the case, had thought to myself: "so THIS is why he's been playing so sh*te lately."

With that said, Night Falls Over Kortedala was one of the most satisfying albums of 2007.

This has nothing to do with Jens, but Cro-cop i'm afraid is washed-up my friend despite his devastating kick to the dome piece.

Rainard Jalen 02-08-2008 02:50 PM

yeah...um, what?

sleepy jack 03-03-2008 12:06 AM

Beautiful.

great vid, ethan.

i think that's the first time i've seen lekman in person - i always just assumed he looked like the guy in the drawing on the front of Night Falls. i know that's meant to be a representation of lekman, but he looks substantially different in the vid

anyway, excellent vid and one of the best songs off the album.

So cute. I want a new album dammit.

Night Falls Over Kortedala is quite good. What're the rest of his albums like?

sleepy jack 12-22-2010 12:08 AM

He has a compilation (Oh You're So Silent Jens) and then an album (When I Said I Wanted To Be Your Dog) both are good, the album is more cohesive than the compilation but I think the compilation has way better songs (though some lamer ones.) If you liked Night Falls etc you'll dig both.

much love for Jens!

I've got to say, I wasn't aware anyone else knew this guy existed. Pleasantly surprised to realize otherwise.

For someone who doesn't speak english as a first language, and for someone who sings pop music of any kind, the lyrics are definitely impressive and clever.

I can't help but feeling an ever so slight inner rush whenever a swede is mentioned in anglo-saxon contexts.

This one was even a hit, at least here.

Nice. Very original music video and a good song.

Oh You're So Silent Jens is my favorite album of all albums.
