Had a listen, its nice enough. Songs like California Dreamer and Call It A Ritual have more of an edge to them, i really like An Animal In Your Care as well. That said, its nowhere near as immediate as the last one.

I wonder if we would be saying that if this had been their debut...given their specific sound.
My favorites for now are Fine young cannibals and Language city. The second half of Kissing the beehive is pretty spectacular too...

I absolutely adore the piano in the beginning of Call It A Ritual.
After listening I think my favorite song is "An Animal In Your Care" it doesn't feel as emotionally connectable (new word) as Apologies and I prefer the production on Apologies also. It's still a completely solid release though I think Piss Me Off is right it's just nowhere near as immediate. |

yea i thought at mount zoomer was not as good as apologies...i think they are missing the production of mr isaac brock to be honest. that said, its still a strong effort and better than 90% of the new stuff out there imo

Ok seriously, did anyone else know there are two singers in this group? I still can't tell which one is singing what, their styles are so freaking similar.
Oh and yes, I'm giving At mount zoomer a second chance...:|

Frog Eyes sounds too much like Sunset Rubdown, which was too claustrophobic and cacophanous (thesaurus.com is a great tool) for me. I like apologies, and for awhile it was one of my favourite albums, but mount zoomer is just too meh. Maybe they'll get it together again on their third release, if their 10 thousand side projects dont get them too tied up.

Fucking word. I'm tired of these assholes wasting their creativity on every goddamned thing that suits their fancy.
Oh and you misspelled cacophonous...
