i think the most important psychobilly band of all time is the meteors. So they NEED to be heard. Also. 80s Matchbox are important for the contemporary development and i think the grandfather of the scene is Screamin Jay Hawkins. So ahead of his time. check him out.

Bump.

I love psychobilly and rockabilly. A recent Nekromantix gig (overrated I know, but it was amazingly fun) got me back into the genre. I only wish I was closer to SF or LA to see more live bands like that.

Check out Frantic Flintstones, Koffin Kats, and Os Catalepticos: amazing bands.

Get Bad Music for Bad People by the Cramps. Their best imo.

The psychobilly scene was always quite closely linked with the goth scene so I ended up seeing quite a few bands. My first gig was The Cramps supported by The Stingrays. As well as the previously mentioned King Kurt gigs (definitely as violently mad as described) I also had a soft spot for the Guana Batz.

The stand out psychobilly anthem track was always 'Wrekin Crew' by The Meteors. No one was ever safe on the dancefloor when it got played.

Couldn't link it because I haven't filled my quota yet.

Silly-ass rule.

I like those bands too. The new Koffin Kats album is great!

I'm really getting into The Creepshow and they have a new album coming out soon. Check them out if you can.

I was just listening to the Dead Kennedys and I noticed a lot of similarities between their riffs and some rockabilly riffs. Are they considered borderline psychobilly?
