I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

Junior Boys, for example, a band that I think are great, seem to have really put no effort at all into their own remix. The song they chose (or had chosen for them, I don't know), "Sleep Tonight," is really right up their alley in regards to the songs they usually make. But instead of really doing anything at all with it they just (from what it sounds like to me) phone it in by adding a boring beat and then just leaving there. Almost every song on here sort of feels like that to me, like the artists involved didn't really know what to do so they didn't really do anything. Having said all that, I do think the Russian Futurists' cover is great. But that and maybe two or three other songs I thought were decent were all I enjoyed. |

I first heard of the stars back in 2004 and went on to purchase the album "Set Yourself On Fire", Absolutely loved it! Stars are the reason why I really got into the whole canadian Indie scene. there are few recommendation on canadian indies 1.Arcade Fire (I think most of you know about this band) 2.Malajube (Francophone Indie group in Montreal) 3.Wolf Parade 4.Feist |
