I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

God. That's a good point. I hate when the work of great artists falls into the wrong hands. And I don't mean to be elitist. But Elliott's music is not for people who buy into that superficial kind of scene. Plus people attuned to the mainstream almost never understand him. My best friend dismisses him saying "He sounds like a pussy" and if you watch interviews with people like Jeneane Garaffelo and Carson Daily on MTV. They never know what to ask him, because they aren't use to speaking to people whose work has character and substance, and they just throw a couple fluff questions and end things as soon as they can. I've never seen another performer that was so unassuming and uncomfortable in front of a camera, so the fact that he was able to reach such a wide audience shows a real toughness of spirit. I mean, he was exactly like the people he was writing for, which isn't something you often see in today's industry driven world of music. I almost hope they don't make the movie. Of course, we have to realize it probably won't get wide distribution or a lot of advertising. It probably will end up relegated to the art houses and small indie theaters, so we may well be safe on that front.
