I've only recently discovered Elliott Smith's story and music, and while I have heard a few of his songs through the years, I never really listened to it to appreciate it. You know, like really listen to it. So I've recently downloaded his entire discography and I'm going to start tonight. I have high hopes for his music, as he's been paraded as an essential Indie/Alternative artist by members here and has been compared to that of Nick Drake.

So cheers to whoever else may be listening to him now

A Few years back Me and a few friends went to see fleet foxes in seattle, we ended up browsing records at a local vinyl shop. We bought a few Elliot Vinyls and the owner of the shop said he used to dorm with Elliot back in the day. Said he used to hang around at parties just playing the guitar by himself. Cool guy though.

I'm looking forward to this.

XO is still my fav album of his, closely followed by Either/Or and From a Basement.

That's so awesome and I can totally imagine him doing that.

No Name #1, I hope he wrote that whilst in the corner of a party with a stray acoustic guitar recalling the nights events.

Breathtaking...wow...beautiful...

I'll post what I think this weekend. When the final song finished playing, I waited and waited and waited for the next song to play. I sat at a bus stop with my headphones that remained dead silent, and under my sunglasses I glanced down to discover it was the last song, and nothing more was to come. I could feel the warm coating of tears.

This weekend.
