Default The Victorian English Gentlemens Club

I like them a lot.

They`re a little bit Fall-ish , a little bit Pixies-ish , a little bit new wave-ish , and very very loud.

They have an album out in a couple of weeks I look forward to hearing it.

You can hear a couple of songs here ... http://www.myspace.com/thevictoriane...gentlemensclub

And i`ve also uploaded another one here ....

The Victorian English Gentleman's Club - Stupid as Wood

I listened to Ban the Gin and I'll agree that it is kinda Pixie-ish.

I liked Ameatur Man more.
The lead guy's voice isn't too distinct but something about the instrumentals is definitely memorable.

They remind mea little of the band Hot Hot heat for some reason. Although the sounds are hardly comparable.

The song you uploaded is way better than what's on their myspace. I listened to those first and I hated it the first listen but they definitely grew on me. If/When you get their if you uploaded it that would be uberly awesome.

Yeah that song being better than the myspace stuff is the main reason I uploaded it.

Alright so im two songs deep in the myspace selection and Stupid as Wood has expired. Can someone send it to me?

With the other songs (although Cannonball is turning out to be nice) they seem to use that awful voice as a crutch for indie credibility rather than an icing on the cake. The songs seem alright but its obscurity for the sake of obscurity, at least in my opinion. I hold out dinifinitive decision making for the fourth and final song...

I don`t have it now but it`s available at their website (The link is on the Myspace page)

It`s actually better than the Myspace songs which is why I uploaded it in the first place..

The "Ban the gin" line sounds very similar to the "Bandages" line in the HHH song of the same name...

Wasn't convinced by the MySpace song but I could be won over... I couldn't download the other song - any chance of a reupload?
