I haven't heard anything from this band yet besides The Mountain, how does the early material chalk up? When I saw them they played a few of the older songs which sounded much heavier in comparison to the new material.. I suppose it doesn't make much of a difference as long as I can still hear the amazing vocals.

On The Mountain her vocals are a little dirtier/raspier, but I notice that on Stairs and Elevators they sound a bit more pure (but still distinctive). Overall it's a noticeably a little louder, or heavier, but it's still got some calm songs in there. "New Resolution" and "Runnin" are damn good tracks [up on last.fm, check it!].

Well I listened to the two songs you recommended pourmeanother, really enjoyed them both, especially New Resolution, everything about that track was just great. I liked the whole lo fi/diy sound of these two, sounds like it's going to be a solid album.

Hah, you're too kind! I'm rather interested in hearing Stairs & Elevators if it's not too much trouble, that'd be it for now.

Early material is much better in my opinion. The Mountain just chugs along, it lacks the energy and dynamic nature of their earlier albums. The voice is still incredible and the songwriting is almost as good though so it's still a fine album.
