Default Introduction to Sonic Youth

I was bored so I decided to pick 12 songs that I would choose to introduce somebody to Sonic Youth.

1. Schizophrenia (1987)

Classic introduction to 'Sister' kicks in as soon as you hear the drum beat.

2. Silver Rocket (1988)

Probably contains one of the most famous sections of feedback in rock history, essential 2nd track on 'Daydream Nation'.

3. Brother James (1983)

I decided to include one of their older songs, this is a progressive number for the 'Kill Yr Idols' EP now sold with 'Confusion is Sex'.

4. 'Cross the Breeze (1988)

Simply amazing, Kim Gordon at her best imo.

5. Wish Fulfillment (1992)

My favourite track from 'Dirty' sang by Thurston.

6. Star Power (1986)

First signs of the new direction Sonic Youth were going in from 'EVOL'. Pick of the album.

7. Mote (1990)

Only included one track from 'Goo' but this is a great one.

8. The Neutral (2006)

My favourite track from the new album. Kim Gordon shows she can still deliver.

9. Stereo Sanctity (1987)

'I can’t get laid cuz everyone is dead'

10. Shadow of a Doubt (1986)

Enchanting song, similar to 'Beauty Lies in the Eye' on 'Sister' but so much better and a great chrous.

11. Sunday (1998)

One of their more famous songs from the album 'A Thousand Leaves' features Macaulay Culkin in the video.

12. The Trilogy: The Wonder/Hyperstation/Eliminator Jr. (1988)

Outstanding outro to Daydream Nation, my favourite Sonic Youth song(s), enjoy all 14 minutes of it.

^^ I've put some Urban style 'xx's in the URL for ya too.

Enjoy

Those songs are ok. I'm still not in love with them like everyone says I should be.

Yeah come to think of it maybe I should have included it, it's not one of my favourite songs by them so I sometimes forget it.

Lolzer I've already been introduced to Sonic Youth but I will still download it for "Star Power" and "Sunday".
You are very nice.
