Default how do i find out good indi bands?

i'm new to the music, and really like so far of what i've heard. but i don't own a tv, and the stuff i hear on the radio is a bunch regurgitated b.s.

is there a quicker way to find out good bands?

travel.. i suppose. thething.com has an indie listing. good up and comers usually. doesn't elaborate on the experienced bands.

Epitonic is -awesome- for finding new bands, sign up for an account and use the radio thingy, it gives you a mix of bands from the genre you selected.

the quickes way is to tell us what bands you enjoy and we'll throws a bunch of bands your way....

hating the radio crap is the first step to becoming an indie fan :P

id recommend Last.FM... generally, if you search for a good band they give you more good bands. lots of indie groups/forums on there too.

Epitonic again is also very good. and so are we

yojimbo, start with Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, or Neutral Milk Hotel. Also check out these record labels: Arts & Crafts, Saddle Creek, Elephant 6.
Eventually you'll be finding more bands than you can handle, just remember just because its indie rock doesn't mean its good. you'll probably run into a lot of crap before you find some of the more obscure great ones.
