Was a big fan of The Jesus Lizard growing up. Haven't heard them in ages, I think it's time to take a trip down memory lane....

Hey man, don't ever listen to "Blue", it was one of the most boring pieces of shit I've ever come across.

I was pissed off, really, because "Shot", "Liar, "Goat", "Head", and "Pure" were fucking amazing.

I don't think either of those bands would have ever said they are competing in the 'noise rock' arena.

Anyway, everything's bigger in Texas and Yow (despite being a midget) and company are local heroes in Austin, so I guess Big Black will always be smaller..
I like Scratch Acid better than JL though. And I like Big Black a lot more than both. Then again, I still don't really know what noise rock is.

I know it isn't a competition, I just think they're going for the same sort of sound and I think TJL does it better

Yeah, they all definitely share a similar sound, not to mention they shared band members. It's TJL > Big Black > Scratch Acid though IMO...

To me the bottom line is that Albini had the best vocals and best songwriting so Big Black sounds best.
All 3 are great though and, yes, all three are musical comrades so no argument needed.

I like Albini's vocals, but Yow's deathly screams fit the music the best IMO...
