The thing that I like most about the Microphones is the percussion. The drums on that album are perfect. Elvrum is a genius.

I finally got around to checking this out last night I downloaded Mt. Eerie and really liked it and than grabbed the Glow, Part 2. It was good, I got really into it and was relaxed and it scared the shit out of me on the last track when it switched up all the sudden.

The Microphones are one of those weird artists that have quite a number of songs that are amazing, and the rest is truly horrible. The Moon is my favorite song of theirs, I love how lo-fi it is.

^ I agree.

They have a few good songs, but as a whole it didn't do too much for me. There's better music out there.

The Glow Pt. 2 is my favorite album, theyre one of my favorite bands and, they're just plain damn good.
Great album! "I Want Wind To Blow", "The Glow Pt. 2", "The Gleam Pt. 2", and "I Felt Your Shape" are some of my favorite songs on the album. It Was Hot We Stayed In the Water is a really good album too, love that song "Sand".

I have The Glow Pt. 2 (one of my favorite albums ever) and even then it's only slightly better than Mt. Eerie. Fantastic band.

I have Mount Eerie and if this is any sign, this will definitely become one of my favorite albums/artists. I need to get my hands on The Glow, Pt. 2.

amazing how opinions can change with time...

They've grown on me a lot by now, The Glow Pt 2 is an almost perfect album for me. Mount Eerie is great too; I need to hear more albums by The Microphones

I've heard most of the newer stuff he's releasing, under the name Mount Eerie. It's all very good, but not quite up to par with The Glow Pt 2

Does anyone prefer "It Was Hot, We Stayed In The Water" to "The Glow Pt. 2"?

I like the Glow Pt. 2 but with IWHWSITW I find myself listening to so much more.

Love The Glow Pt. 2, but never got anything else by Phil while under this moniker, however Wind's Poem under Mount Eerie was awesome and his work with Jason Anderson and D+ I also really enjoy.
