Eh, I was never a huge Britpop fan, but there was a time when I was infatuated with Oasis. I suppose they win by default...

Oasis ftw
Oasis's first 3 albums were amazing rock albums imo, but after that a lot of people lost interest. I still think a good deal of their later stuff is pretty sound its just a lot different then what they first put out. The MTV unplugged set they did (minus liam) was pretty killer

Blur are more talented but Oasis know how to connect with the people. However, Oasis have no idea how to do progress musically at all. From their first album all they have done is fall further down the musical genius ladder.
Blur had the balls to realise they were out of touch with what they were doing and needed to improve, plus, yknow, Damon Albarn went on to form Gorillaz and The Good The Bad and The Queen and is creating an opera. Noel Gallagher went on to bumming Paul Weller and Liam Gallagher went on to becoming an impersonation of Liam Gallagher |

I just got 13, and I'm really enjoying it, also the music video for Coffee & TV is probably one of the best ever. Who doesnt like a carton of milk that goes on an adventure? Graham really shines on this one showing that he too can write great lyrics. Most Oasis vid's just show off Noel and Liam's unibrow. If they made a vid about Liam's unibrow going on a adventure to find Noel then maybe it could compete with this one, but sadly i don't think that will happen.

I personally didn't enjoy 13 all that much, I felt it was a bit too self indulgent and messy. They were sort of over shooting the mark with the whole new 'experimental' approach. However, the album they made before that, the self titled one, was brilliant. And even though many people hate it and just call it a Damon Albarn solo project, which it mostly was, 'Think Tank' is my favourite Blur album out of the lot.
And then you've got Oasis, who made Definitely, Maybe... and then released a bunch of albums that each had a few good songs that were all made with the primary intention of being able to sing the songs in a dingey pub. |
