I find there's a difference between a song that's sad and a one that's absolutely miserable, so i'm not really sure what's wanted here. Still:
I Know It's Over by The Smiths is a brilliant sad tune. "And as i climb into an empty bed...oh well, enough said" Suffer Little Children by The Smiths is deliciously haunting Asleep has been mentioned here already (had to do it again, sorry Rickenbacker) Dress Rehearsal Hag by Leonard Cohen is absolutely bloody miserable Famous Blue Raincoat by Leonard Cohen has a sad feeling to it (it's freaking genius too) Bullet Proof...I Wish I Was by Radiohead just has that full sound and great lyrics that can induce a coma Exit Music (For A Film) by Radiohead just makes you want to scream out Dagger by Slowdive is pretty sad I always listen to The End by the Doors when i feel miserable, but i don't think it classifies as a "sad song" per se. It qualifies as bloody amazing tho, and that's enough for me. The Great Gig In The Sky by Pink Floyd. Oh you've got to listen to this one... And these are just out of the top of my head. I know some might not be indie, but comon, can you blame me? |
