Xiu Xiu are alright.. seen Part Chimp live.. thought they were a bit bland.. and as for the Swarm, they rate very highly on my non-existant list of 'worst live sets ive ever seen'.
will check out the others though.

Now I don`t want to come across as a hater here , but can anybody say that they`d actually pay money to hear some of the stuff mentioned in this thread?
I`m all for experimentation and pushing boundaries and i`ll quite happily download it and check it out , but pay for it? you must be joking. I mean no offence intended but there are a few bands like this i`ve heard (Boredoms , Black Dice to name 2) where sometimes you would hardly be able to tell the difference if you replaced it with a BBC sound effects album halfway through. So yeah ,can anybody honestly say they buy stuff that extreme?

definately.... well, theres a point, i think. Everyone has a limit of what they enjoy and what they can bear to listen to.
i dunno.. i enjoy listening to Boredoms and Black Dice and own CDs of both. not because their music is really that enjoyable, but i think theyre really interesting bands - their albums bring up different thoughts and reactions each time. a BBC sound effects album... that would be interesting!! This kind of music (and noise music as we're heading in that direction) can be amazing live though... even if you dont like it.

Well i`m totally discounting the live thing , thats something totally different i`d definetly go out & see that type of band live.
I guess I look at that type of music in the same way you`d look at modern art.I can appreciate it , I like looking to see just how extreme some people would go to , I just wouldn`t necessarily pay for it & have it in my house.
