I'm going to be honest, I don't understand all the love that Frankly Mr Shankly gets, I've always found it very boring. Maybe I'm missing something?

I do love The Smiths. They often get dismissed as miserable and depressing, and while these labels are not wrong, I think people who make these comments are missing a lot of the humour in the lyrics and the beauty of the music. Vicar in a Tutu, for example, is about as far from miserable as you can get. And despite the title, Cemetry Gates is positively jolly
I keep changing my mind between The Queen is Dead and The Smiths for which is their best album. My favourite Smiths songs are That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore, There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, and I Know It's Over |
