I like Morrisseys solo recordings more but The Smiths was a great band. Especially the songs How Soon Is Now?, This Charming Man and Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now.

The Smiths were one of those bands that typify all that is English.
From The Kinks to the Jam, then through The Smiths and up to present day with The Arctic Monkeys. Great lyrically and very British.

Interesting to see your from Finland, you should post an Intro (if you haven't already) in the 'Introduction' section of 'The Lounge'.
*avoid the Croatian, he's crazy*
Anyway, welcome to MusicBanter.

Finally got around to listening to Mozzas new album.

Although the songs might not be as good as what he did with the Smiths I`ll always listen to an album with THAT voice.

Thats one thing that pisses me off, the amount of people who critisise Morrissey for being miserable and rubbish on the basis of one song they've heard. How anyone can deny Johnny Marr is one of the greatest songwriters ever is beyond me.

oh muppet you do make me cry. which is a shame because your so like my favourite user. really insightful and intriguing.
how could i ever listen to led zeppelin when i could listen to a conceited prat whinge and whine about his troubles as the band behind him plays second-rate drivel. i find his quiff more entertaining.

I love the Smiths, Morrissey's lyrics are wonderful and so is Johnny Marr's music.
