Default Dischord / DC scene

Wow, there are/were so many amazing bands in the DC area, specifically Dischord records.

Fugazi
Q and not U
Bluetip
Faraquet
Jawbox
Rites of Spring
Smart Went Crazy
Medications

Now in the general DC scene, I think of the Dismemberment Plan. Great music, great albums, brilliant writing.

Does anybody else here listen to any of those bands, which I'm sure some do. Those are the ones which got me into the music I listen to now, and I don't think I'll ever get sick of them.

Out of those I listen to, Q and Not U, Rites Of Spring, Fugazi and in addition to those Fire Party, Dag Nasty, Ignition, Gray Matter, Nation Of Ulysses, Teen Idles and Minor Threat. Dischord has some great bands.

I liked Black Eyes a lot. I'm not so into a lot of the "dance punk" stuff that's been going around lately.

If you consider Q and not U dance punk, then that's about as much of that as I listen to.

Dischord is all about The Faith and Void. Mainly Void.

I'll admit, there's a lot of Dischord I haven't heard... I think I just need to borrow my friends "20 Years of Dischord" cd and it'll fix that.

I love Dischord Records, even though a lot of the bands aren't what I prefer listening to, they're more often than not pretty good, which is cool.

I've been hearing about Black Eyes being good for about a year now, and still never been able to find a single record in any music shop here.
