that is a great album! Their new one is a bit... well.. noisy/busy but still quite good (it's the self-titled album). I saw BSS a couple months ago and it was very, very good! The songs off their new album made much more 'sense' and were even more enjoyable live. They are back in a couple months and highly recommend you seeing them! At one point they had 6 (!!) guitarists playing at the same time

BSS is a candian 'collective' band with nearly 20 members. Their last tour had about 9 people - more info here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_Social_Scene

One thing that some people don't know is that in Canada you need at least 8 members in a band to get goverment funding. That's one main reason these bands have so many members...

Off shoot bands include the Likes of Stars, The Dears, Metric, and Do Make Say Think.

Just saw the Stars a few months ago and they were also very good. Lastly, just got Amy Millan's new solo album in from the label but not heard it yet...
