I've had a chance to listen to the album properly and I like it a lot, but the best song is still steady as she goes....

You know, I listened to the 2 songs on the website when it first came out... and wow... I was majorly disappointed. I love the White Stripes, I love them... but I was not a fan of the Raconteurs. I have yet to listen to the whole album though.

the album grows on you quite a bit, it just takes a bit of time to get used to the different sound...

Loving this album. 'Steady As She Goes' is the obvious in your face catchy tune of all on this album.
'Hands' is more Britpop, in my opinion, in an old school way.
'Intimate Secretary', 'Together' and 'Level' also impress me.
'Blue Veins' = reminds me of Pink Floyd cept' for the vocals.
'Call It A Day' touches a personal, emotional nerve. It's one of those songs that the lyrics carry alone.
Best album I've heard in a while. (I keep saying this).

Only had 1 listen, 1st opinion, not as good as the white stripes
Sorry, I haven't heard Benson's stuff
I'll have to go have a look.

yea in australia its kinda rare to find the album with the name 'raconteurs' on it. i somehow found it, my friend shat his pants when he found out i had the non-saboteurs version. i compared both copied to see that theyre exactly the same, track listings, art, everything, only difference was the name.

and i like the album, real cool. ill check into Brendon Benson sometime soon. i like 'blue veins'. not sure who sings on 'broken boy soldiers', but he sounds a lot like robert plant on that track.
