Putting the sickening popularity of "Such Great Heights" aside, The Postal Service isn't bad. I find them kind of overrated (and Death Cab For Cutie), although Ben Gibbard is undoubtedly good at creating simple, melodic, listenable tunes.

"sickening popularity" haha, if a song is good then a song is good. i dont listen to stuff just cause someone cooler than me listens to it.

oh yeh and i just listened to electric president and i like them, I LIKE THEM ALOT!!!!

of course, you should listen to what you like regardless of its popularity or lack thereof. i only mention the popularity because i have a hard time escaping the song, especially since so many of my friends are prone to that style of music. it's on commercials, tv shows, countless myspace profiles, and if i'm in someone else's car there's a 75% chance they have the song on the mixed CD they're playing. i originally enjoyed the song, but it got drilled into my head too much.

i'm in the UK - so well away from being overexposed to PS. I know what you mean though, I lived in Seattle during Grunge and I was so overexposed I still don't listen to any of the popular albums....

They are pretty good, although I've only heard a few songs by them.
