saw this band recently and i must say, live they are amazing. very robust, hard-hitting indie rock. the female vocalist has a great voice. anybody else dig?

When you said that I was expecting a deep butch voice

Not bad , she sounds exactly the same as Martina Topley Bird.

Now her voice IS sex.

Yeah I remember enthusing about them here a few weeks ago - I've grown to quite like their debut album. And yeah, her voic is brilliant and they look like a good live act. I'll prolly go up to see them play Manchester Festival when I am up there to see PJ Harvey in July (some details here if anyone here is interested...)

Anyone listened to the new album? I love it (all except Don't Upset The Rhythm which is a bit poppy and overplayed). Very different from the first album. Beat of My Heart is my favourite song.

Saw them live a while back and Shingai (the lead singer) is an amazing performer too.

Nooo! Why?

The Noisettes are good, I enjoyed their new album less than What's The Time, Mr. Wolf? though. Still, it's definitely an interesting direction to go and I don't like R&B usually so it's saying something that I like them.

It's a long time since i made this thread :/

My interest with this band has cooled significantly since WTTMW?, i wasnt hugely enamoured with WYHs at all, i much prefer the angular, almost schitzophrenic sound of the debut to the soulful sound of the second. It just doesnt interest me at all. Shame, i remember really digging the debut a lot.
