I need to give Echo Dek another play - not played it for some time |
Yeah, with any luck. I didn't think Riot City Blues was that bad, but it just wasn't really that good either. Hell's Coming Down is a class song though.
|
aw, geez, I love Riot City Blues
have also recently got Sonic Flower Groove, Vanishing Point, Evil Heat and XTRMNTR |
Well, as I said, Hell's Coming Down's a great song. Nitty Gritty and Country Girl are pretty cool too. The rest I can listen to and reasonably enjoy, just not so much...except Sometimes I Feel So Lonely, which I basically loathe.

I think Vanishing Point and Evil Heat are very underrated albums.

Burning wheel and star are two of their greatest songs, shame on the Scream for not putting Star on their greatest hits collection. Stiil Screamdelica is their masterpiece. |
Give Out is a ****ing awful album. But PS has so much great stuff that its forgivable.

With 77 posts already, this is one of the longer threads that we've bumped, but let's not assume that everything that can be said about Primal Scream has already been said. Also, if this thread tells the whole story, nobody has mentioned them for four years. Have they fallen so far from grace or what? |
I was going to say I hadn't heard of them which is what you get after waking up from a nap. So much for my John Lennon primal scream therapy joke
Anyway, they're not a bad group. I remember really liking Screamadelica. I think it had a Stones' Beggars Banquet era vibe. Not a bad think to have. |
I don't know much about the band. I would say they are just OK. I don't know if I can really get into them as much as Urban Hat£monger.
Glasgow must have an awesome music scene. ( ... maybe, maybe not, I'm only thinking of my favorite bands from there.) My favorite bands from the 90s that were based in Glasgow were/are Garbage, and Urusei Yatsura. In general Scotland usually produces really good bands. Urban Hat£monger mentioned in the OP that they band had ex-members from My Bloody Valentine. I know of another band that had a member of MBV. I never thought about it but I wonder how many bands spurned off of MBV. I wonder if MBV is like The Yardbirds where ex-members went on to form bands such as Cream, The Jeff Beck Group, Renaissance, and Led Zeppelin, to name a few. edit: Now I have to go make a MBV family tree of bands. |
