Default 80s British Noisepop

I`m bored of grunge getting so much attention and this getting ignored when it`s basically the same thing ...... only much better.

So go check out some of these bands...

Swervedriver
Fudge Tunnel
Mega City Four
Senseless Things
Pop Will Eat Itself
Bomb Disneyland/Everything
My Bloody Valentine
Spacemen 3
Jesus & Mary Chain
Ride
Slowdive

And then perhaps we can stop all this ridiculous talk about Nirvana inventing grunge ...ok?

A few bands that should be mentioned too..

Lush
Chapterhouse

I'd like keep this as far from grunge as possible please.. there are some similarities but there are more differences in my opinion...

not really. those bands dont call themselves grunge.i dont think of nirvana as a grunge band. the whole term "grunge" as applied to a musical genre is bollocks

Grunge is more of a movement, if you were from Seattle in late 80's and early 90's and played rock music you were generally considered a grunge band. So yes how the bands sound is different, they all came from different musical backgrounds so there was a range from metal to punk to hard rock etc.

As for noise pop I know they're not British but my favourite is Sonic Youth.

Well those bands are more shoegazer than noisepop , there is a crossover element but I was going for the heavier sounding bands.
