Suede
Anybody like Suede here?
I've got their debut album and love it. 'Animal Nitrate', 'So Young' and 'Pantomime Horse' are all great. I think they are quite underrated compared to other Britpop bands of the 90's like Oasis, Pulp and Blur.

I was a fan back in the day but looking back I'd say they were hugely overrated.

I beleive they were the first band ever to be on the cover of the NME before they even had a single out.
They were a bit overrated at the time but nowhere near as much as the likes of The Libertines , The Strokes or The Arctic Monkeys have been over the past few years. I just think it was genuine excitement that there was finally a British band making good British pop records amongst a sea of awful Grunge bands.

I didn't realise it when I was younger but Suede were probably one of the first bands that I heard for myself on the radio and decided to investigate. Until then I'd really been relying on my parents and friends and Top Of The Pops. Their music brings back lots of strange memories and I'm not sure if that's what I want when I listen to them but there's not a lot I can do.
Favourite songs are So Young, Trash and Beautiful Ones. I suppose Brett Anderson went for whining over singing but I did like his voice. |

Suede :D
My favourite band. Just wondered what people here think of them.
I think 'A New Morning' and 'Head Music', though there were some catchy tunes, they were thoroughly mediocre. I love the rest of their stuff though. My favourite song by them is 'Asphalt World' on 'Dog Man Star'. Last edited by Amphiptere; 10-29-2010 at 07:34 AM. |
