Television Personalities
truely the oddest thing ive seen for yonks. a group of 5 indie kids and a bloke. the songs called "all the young kids are on smack" or something like that and the song is literally the leader singer singing "all the young kids are on smack, all the young kids are on crack, they deserve better, lets give them something back" in a very childlike, innocent chant which trundles alongside a lumbering drum beat with brief snippets of acoustic and electric guitar. im wondering if their anything to do with the television personalities, though i understand the band is actually the "personlaites"? someone tell me more.

well i saw the vid on tv and it was very 'special'. are they the band television personalities that i've been hearing about the whole time? that little girl in the background is really annoying, but i do wanna give them a second chance...do they have other songs?

I'm going to revive this thread because somehow I've managed to ignore the wonderful Television Personalities. They're like an early variation of my favorite twee pop bands, And The Don't The Kids Just Love It is an amazing album.

Yeah, And Don't the Kids Just Love It is an awesome album. Good comparison with twee pop - they do remind me a lot of Belle and Sebastian with that whole polished variation of jangly indie and that.
A couple of videos for those who haven't heard them; |
