Default indie (not rap or as i say crap)

yes, indie is all forms of rock pop and alternative music. however it is not rap as stated above or electronica. these things lack musical ability... no offense guys who do these things but an instrument makes 'real' noise. indie is the abreiviation of indipendant, just like emo is the abreiviation of emotion which again as far as music goes is an abrieviation for emotional hardcore but thats not the topic so on we go - ie bands that work through garages or smaller record companies making only a select amount of cds. indie rock does not fall under cliche catagories of pop music, moreso it creates a slower or faster beat with higher amount of 'concentration' (i'm not even going to go into that one), all in all indie is good very very good.

Well I guess New Order are not an indie band then even though Factory records were one of the first indie labels, and because they played electronica.

And I guess even though in the band Peter Hook plays bass & Bernard Sumner plays guitar they`re not 'real musicians' either.

Congratulatons , that has to be the most idiotic post I have ever read from someone who quite clearly has a brain in there somewhere.

yeah, you are looking at the right direction...but if you can manage to find a real version of the song "artist and the ambulance" by thrice it will give you a whole new perspective on indie music
