i agree with radiohead, how they arent in this i just do not understand, they have 3 albums that warrant a top 10 place. and no massive attack?
plus..the arctic monkeys..why shouldnt they be there? i see no reason why it cant be in the top 10. so what if its only a week old. and its excellent aswell. disagree with the sex pistols being in the top 10 at all, let alone bloody number 4.

The same could be said of Elastica. They're about as good as one another.

Sneer 01-29-2006 01:21 PM

you cannot tell me elastica generated the same public excitement as the arctic monkeys have. thats utter BS.

Urban Hat€monger ? 01-29-2006 01:23 PM

They did y`know

One of the most eagerly awaited albums at the time I remember the hype about it almost a year before it came out

franscar 01-29-2006 01:23 PM

I didn't say that. I said they were about as good as each other, it really isn't difficult to read.

The plague generated more public excitement than the Arctic Monkeys, doesn't mean it was a good thing.

Sneer 01-29-2006 01:25 PM

and it matched the sales figures "whatever people say i am thats what im not" has amassed in a week yes? im not playing the whole "sales figures means a band is better then another band" game, im simply saying why cant an album that so many people have obviously bought and like be in there. (note thats to urban, not franscar)

Urban Hat€monger ? 01-29-2006 01:26 PM

You wouldn`t be going for the sales = quality thing would you?

Oh Stu you disappoint me

franscar 01-29-2006 01:28 PM

If people can still recognise the distinctive bass line of one of the Arctic Monkeys terrificly varied hits in ten years time, then maybe, maybe they'll be better than Elastica.

*Hums Connection to self.*

Sneer 01-29-2006 01:30 PM

you mistake me urban, im going for the "listen to the album, then state its quality" approach. i was proving a point that elastica had nothing of the impacvt the monkeys have had...using sales figures.
