Default Mission of Burma

(Whoo my first thread)

Anyone here like Mission of Burma? They're definitely phenominal uh... Alternative? Post-punk? Anyway some category like that. You should definitely check them out if you haven't heard them already.

Mission of Burma is amazing. Two of them started a band later called Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, which is also awesome, more of a fusion kinda thing... avant-prog.

Good band from Boston back in the day. Too bad they couldn't keep it together for more than 4 years, though.

I have Vs

Didn`t really grab me although it`s ok.

I always prefered the British post punk stuff to the American stuff myself , it seemed that bit more original.

Yeah me too for the most part. Joy Division are my favourite post-punk if they count (they were technically punk at the start and were still around when punk was at its height but they were more focused on introspection and mood than snarling and nihilism)

Their new album is simply amazing. They haven't lost it at all, and it doesn't sound like they're just trying to re-hash their old sound. Well worth purchasing. Hell, it might even be better than Vs...
