Creation has never been major label subsidiary.
Sony didn't buy into it until 1992, nearly 10 years into the labels existence, when they bought a 49% share of the label due to Loveless & Screamadelica constantly being delayed & costing more & more money to make. It was also written in that contract that they would only own the name and had no say in the day to day running of the label. When it became apparent this relationship wasn't working McGhee folded the label.

Indie shouldn't even be a genre, it defines the type of label- "Independant". There could be a Indie death metal band and an Idie hippie acoustic band and they could be in the same genre?
Makes no sense to me, thats for sure |
