Then Maroon 5 has none in them either.

Didn't say none. That song is certainly funky, but doesn't use the piano in the same way and isn't representative of their whole catalogue.

So.... some funk... enough to be certainly funky but not almost no funk in them..

right. I think that just sums up your whole argument.

I was talking about the song. Then I was talking about their whole catalogue. Get it?

How does Maroon 5 use it different? Maroon 5 aren't even nearly as piano heavy as you make them sound, remember She Will Be Loved? Harder to Breathe?

They use it to create an atmosphere, and oftentimes have it as the sole accompanyment to the vocals on a hook.

Way to only half address my point.

They don't use piano on every song. What's wrong with that? They're still mainly piano-driven.

So... according to your theory of Piano driven originality, not every song is original because not every song uses piano. shock horror.

ProggyMan 10-04-2007 07:04 PM

How the hell did you get that out of my statement?

Wrong, the only piano driven songs on Songs About Jane are This Love and Sunday Morning.
