^I brought it up because you like them and their stuff has been done before, thus making them completely unoriginal, according to your standards at least.

But you can keep arguing about how original they are, it only takes one band doing it before them to prove that wrong.

I thinks it's ridiculous you said anything at all he said "You do mean 'original' for a pop band i assume? Because that may be a near valid comment." You said "Pop and funk isn't something that many people have experimented with, especially currently." wheres the disagreement? Oh wait! There isn't one, this is just a classic case of senior member cock sucking and new member bullying. Dead was right, you guys were wrong. End of story.

Is there a piano in any of those songs? Are any of them anywhere near as melodic as Maroon 5?

I don't know why you're bringing them up, they aren't relevant to the argument. I wouldn't compare two multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriters who for the most part did everything themselves to some made for the radio pop band.

Eliott Smith isn't original at all really, but that's not relevant. He dragged them in to show you how ridiculous your arguement was.

Please explain to me how ONE instrument, A PIANO is going to make Maroon 5 so original?

So? Since when does the originality of something effect how I like it?

Because it completaly changes their sound. I've got nothing besides that.

So the driving force in their music is a piano, as opposed to a guitar. I guess they're the first ones to do that?

ProggyMan 10-04-2007 05:00 PM

Of bands that are similar in other area's? Yep.

So I guess that piano totally separates them from other bands doing the same thing and thats the deciding factor on them being original?

ProggyMan 10-04-2007 05:09 PM

Why not?

I just wanted to clarify and since thats the case, okay they are original. Yep and the only reason they're original is because of a piano. I think that says alot about their musical creativity.
