Islands
Ok
My Friend sent me the CD "Return To The Sea" It is amazing. They have a kind of "electronica-ish sound" I like it a lot. Good Songs Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby Where There's a Will There's A Whalebone Jogging Gorgeous Summer If Humans If you want to hear them PM Me I have the CD. It is very, very, good |

The CD is decent, it doesn't stand up to any of the Unicorns' stuff though. I much preferred the few songs that leaked early last year to the stuff that appeared on the album, at least that was somewhat different than anything they released before. Return to the Sea just makes me wish I was listening to Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?

the older Unicorns stuff is alot better, this i see as being a little side project while the unicorns get back together later

so im bumping this forgotten thread because Islands is coming out with a new album, Vapours! apparently Jamie Thompson / J'aime Tambeur is returning to the band. he was in The Unicorns with them and he appeared on Return To The Sea (he left shortly after that). hopefully they take a step in The Unicorns direction. Arm's Way was bad.

I saw the Islands live a while back (Return to the Sea tour) and was extremely disappointed. For a band with so much energy I have never been so bored.
I really only went because Why? was opening. I left 3/4 into Islands' set and will probably never listen to them again. I still rock The Unicorns on occasion though. |
