What do you think about Mew?
couldn't find a mew thread so I'm posting one...
I like their second album "Frengers", but their third and newest album, "and the glass handed kites", made me love this danish band. What do you think about them? If you haven't heard of them, check them out cause they're great! |
I've got a few tracks off Frengers, like She Came Home for Christmas. It sounds really like a Snow Patrol song though... only slightly better. Do you see it or is it just me?
I'll check out the other album though and let you know! |
Haven't heard of snow patrol actually, so no, I don't see it :)
|
Wow. That's really unusual I would have thought.
Don't go changin' ;) |
still deciding on them tbh.. seeing them next month live so that will help...
|
not convinced about these ,there is no uniqueness to their music

One of the best bands there is. Seen them 3 times live. Awesome singer and different kinds of songs so you'll not get bored. And The Glass Handed Kites was the best album in 2005 though I think Frengers is even better.
|
I haven't seen them live yet, was going to in october, but couldn't because of a trip to switzerland:mad: I'm seeing them in march though, looking so much forward to that!
|
I just listened to Mew and i'm liking them. =D Also, doesn't Snow Patrol sing a song called Informer?

Mew is one of my favorite bands so i wanted to get the thread on page one because i know that there are more mew fans here!
i think the first song i heard was 156 on some kind of chart show on tv in 2003-2004 and ever since i have really liked them. i remember that i was really blown away and at that time my favorite artists were beyonce and nik&jay so that is really an accomplishment! i haven't heard the new album enough, but Frengers and ..And The Glass Handed Kites are both really amazing albums. I've always struggled with the earlier ones.. probably because i love the versions of the songs on frengers so much. i've seen them live two times and both were really unique and they are both among my favorite concerts ever. at a concert with them in august last year it gave me goosebumps when they started playing comforting sounds because it was so beautiful. that is a really special memory for me :) Jonas Bjerres' voice really does something for me that i haven't found in any other band or any other singer! so to repeat the title of the thread - What do you think about Mew? :) |
Wow... four years later. I didn't even remember this site. But good for you anyways. Nik&Jay haha.

Mew is my favourite band, they're incredible. "Snow Brigade" is definately my favourite song, and "Frengers" my favourite album. Their newest album "No More Stories..." is awesome but I prefer Frengers - mainly for "156", "Snow Brigade", "Am I Wry? No", "She Spider" and "Eight Flew Over, One Was Destoryed" which turns out to be most of the album...

I like Mew quite a bit. First got into them about 3.5 years ago after moving to Seattle and the local indie station played "The Zookeeper's Boy".
|
Cool stuff. Mew is awesome. I really like their newest album but I first heard them, believe it or not, when watching a NewGrounds movies. The song was "Eight Flew Over, One Was Destroyed."
I haven't turned back since. I saw them recently, Fall 2009 in NY in Williamsburg. |
Saw 'em opening up for NIN -- fantastic.
|
I hate describing songs as epic, but Comforting Sounds... whoa.
|
Mew are a great band I love 'em.
|
Hi! I'm twice-...colored!
|
Frengers is one of my all time favourite albums. Gutted I missed them supporting Nine Inch Nails the other year </3
