Mew is one of my favorite bands so i wanted to get the thread on page one because i know that there are more mew fans here!
i think the first song i heard was 156 on some kind of chart show on tv in 2003-2004 and ever since i have really liked them. i remember that i was really blown away and at that time my favorite artists were beyonce and nik&jay so that is really an accomplishment! i haven't heard the new album enough, but Frengers and ..And The Glass Handed Kites are both really amazing albums. I've always struggled with the earlier ones.. probably because i love the versions of the songs on frengers so much. i've seen them live two times and both were really unique and they are both among my favorite concerts ever. at a concert with them in august last year it gave me goosebumps when they started playing comforting sounds because it was so beautiful. that is a really special memory for me Jonas Bjerres' voice really does something for me that i haven't found in any other band or any other singer! so to repeat the title of the thread - What do you think about Mew?

Mew is my favourite band, they're incredible. "Snow Brigade" is definately my favourite song, and "Frengers" my favourite album. Their newest album "No More Stories..." is awesome but I prefer Frengers - mainly for "156", "Snow Brigade", "Am I Wry? No", "She Spider" and "Eight Flew Over, One Was Destoryed" which turns out to be most of the album...
I would check out "A Triumph for Man" their first album, some songs from it like "Beautiful Balloon" and "Wheels Over Me" are among my favourites.

I like Mew quite a bit. First got into them about 3.5 years ago after moving to Seattle and the local indie station played "The Zookeeper's Boy".

Cool stuff. Mew is awesome. I really like their newest album but I first heard them, believe it or not, when watching a NewGrounds movies. The song was "Eight Flew Over, One Was Destroyed."
I haven't turned back since. I saw them recently, Fall 2009 in NY in Williamsburg. |
