Quit freaking out over what genre it is..=/.
I'd go with what a perfect sonnet said and it has an "emo" influence in it.

Listen to me, there is no emo influence in Bright Eyes. If there is, it would be from Sunny Day Real Estate, but Conor doesn't even incorporate the sound into his music.
