Bright eyes,
Burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes.

Sorry, carry on arguing now. :)

So I asked a bunch of people on another board adn that is what they said. I am sorry for stating what I know. NOT REALLY. You are an ef head and you need to chill out sometimes. Not everyone is perfect. AND you are far from it yourself. So just chill out every once in a while before you pop a brain vessel and die...and everyone would be really sad.

trash.

before you go attacking people....maybe you should check out a couple of the bands that people have suggested as "emo". crowquill is right....emo means "emotional hardcore". "emotional" meaning more emtionally driven, and "hardcore" meaning hardcore punk, such as minor threat.

dont just go freaking out when people pose an opinion that contradicts what you THINK you know. it wont get you very far, and its rather annoying.

sure...some people might think that bright eyes is "emo" but its not emo by the original definition of what "emo" music is. it may fall into a sub genre of emo....but, it bares no similarities to emo.

so, before you go making another one of these posts, go download some...

Saetia
Rites of Spring
Orchid

just to give yourself more of an idea.

To be fair, I have heard so many bands given the tag emo that I fail to care what is and what isn't anymore. I think it would be best if everybody else adopted the same stance really. It's only three letters after all.

ban the spammer?

I could never really get into Bright Eyes. They seem massively overrated.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 01-25-2006 01:30 PM

agreed. although ive only heard a few songs, the ones i have heard really werent all that interesting, and not all that catchy either. i think a lot of artists buy in on whats popular, and become successful that way.

Wait a minute

Let me see i`ve got this right. In the metal education thread Black Sabbath are not metal because 'metal has moved on from then' Yet emo is still the original definition of 'emotional hardcore' regardless that emo is now nothing more than a trend & stereotype & that most people who like 'emo' couldn`t give a stuff about it`s origins.

Just a couple of years ago you ask any emo 'fan' to list their favourite bands & i bet 7 out of 10 of them would have said Bright Eyes.

its all how people define their genres.

Emo stands for emotional hardcore, I really don't think you should change the actual genre name because MTV says so.

I think listening to all of their songs is what really caught me. After that I was hooked.
