The way I see it is, every single band is 'emo'. Well, I'd sure hope so because I wouldn't want to listen to a band who had absolutely no emotion in their songs at all.

Emo isn't "emotional music" the whole emotional thing is stupid, its emotive and emo is a sub-genre to punk. I honestly fail to see how bright eyes is emo at all.

Bright Eyes technically is emo. Emo stands for emotional. (Yes, it alson happens to be a sub genre of punk..but instead of talking about American Idiots or whatever it is more dark and emotional) It is very general...I am not saying that Bright Eyes is even good...but their lyrics are emotional and that would qualify them in the Emo catagory...I guess it is a matter of opinion. But when you ask someone an example of an Emo band their response would be Bright Eyes or Jimmy Eats World...or something like that.

Wow, you obviously don't know what your talking about. If you wanna get techincal emo doesn't stand for emotional music if your reffering to emo as the actual genre. Its emotional hardcore, a confessional version of hardcore (yes thats right) see bands like saetia and heroin. I really dont like getting anal about emo considering im a finch fan, but christ if your going to slap emo on anything emotional you mine as well just consider emo the same thing as music. You don't even know what your talking about.

Well, then half of the ****ing world doesn't know what they are talking about. Because that is what I have been told. No one is really sure what emo is. Everyone has their own opinion. Some are obviously more withstanding than others...but last year I had no idea what qualified as emo (apparently I still don't..but whatever it isn't the end of the world.) So I asked a bunch of people on another board adn that is what they said. I am sorry for stating what I know. NOT REALLY. You are an ef head and you need to chill out sometimes. Not everyone is perfect. AND you are far from it yourself. So just chill out every once in a while before you pop a brain vessel and die...and everyone would be really sad.

I count as 57% of the world and I actually do care because I'm tired of people slapping emo on to anything. Bright Eyes is/are indie. Simple as that. Do not reply to this post saying that I'm Bullsh*tting and do not bring this up again. It is childish and stupid. Grow up.
