Belle & Sebastian has become a recent favorite in the matter of one day.

That's wild, I've never liked them enough to call them a favorite, but they have more than one song that I just can't get enough of:

Me and The Major
Mayfly
White Collar Boy
The Blues Are Still Blue

All great.

I don't get what people's beef is with Storytelling, it's a good album. It just takes some listening to.

I think their latest album was their poorest effort, but it still wasn't awful. It's just too... polished? I don't know, but I don't think it captures their vibe enough. It's a bit too twee also, if you can have twee and polished without them contradicting each other.

I haven't heard Storytelling, only If You're Feeling Sinister and The Life Pursuit. I actually like their 2006 release quite a bit, yeah, it is more polished, but I don't see anything wrong with that in their case.

I dunno, maybe I'm just stuck in my ways. Dear Catastrophe Waitress wasn't a huge hit with me, like it was with some people. I suppose I just prefer their old stuff.

Then again DCW has its moments, so maybe The Life Pursuit just takes some more listening.

Gawd, I hate the Blues Are Still Blue.

You need to listen to more.

I think after this weekend, The Boy With The Arab Strap (omg <3 chickfactor!) would be damn close to my favourite of their albums. Dear Catastrophe Waitress had this title by a mile, but have been listening to their older stuff this past week, and can't believe what I've been missing out on. Tigermilk also kicks ass, and If You're Feeling Sinister is definately growing.
