i'll just give you a list of london based indie rock bands i like and search them if you will. they all kind of originate from the whitechapel rock roots which if you like is the main underground scene in london at the moment- its where higher profile bands like the libertines, the others and to a lesser extent the rakes have emerged!

selfish cunt
the cherubs
thee unstrung
art brut
lady fuzz
the swear
corporation:blend
special needs (orginally from birmingham but based in london)
saint rose
test icicles
twisted charm
Neils Children....i mention this band too much but in my opinion they are the best sound in london at the moment.

and these guys are welsh- but friggin listen to them anyway because they own- the martini henry rifles.

its all very angular and nihilistic at the moment- just how i like it.
and i concur, hey scenesters! owns.

They're pretty good. I got into them because of Hey Scenesters which is poppy good fun. I've heard their s/t and The New Fellas, which is my favorite. Is that all they've released?

Johnny Marr going head to head with Jack White for who can be in the most bands (and just think, he turned down Suede...)

I've seen the Cribs supporting The Ordinary Boys (before they sold out completely) and they were pretty good, but I've never been impressed enough by them to actually buy any of their albums.

Victims of Mass Production is fairly catchy, like a lot of their old stuff, although I cringed a bit at rhyming it with 'weapon of mass destruction'...

Same here...never really been that impressed by them.
I heard the new single today and Marrs influence is all over it.
Has he under sold himself here, or has he brought something to the band that can make a big difference?
