I like it. I didnt at first, but it grew on me. Ive been trying to get hold of the new album fer a while now, but my downloading stuff has gone spazz so itll have to wait.
<Sigh> Means Ill also have to put up with people continuously saying "BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!" when I blatantly cant.

The new Strokes album????
I recently acquired the new Strokes album and would like to get other people's opinions on it.
When The Strokes first reared their ugly heads on the music scene, there was a certain degree of excitment about them. They were new, fresh and to be honest one of the first bands to reserect the Garage Rock scene. Since their excellent debut album, they, in my opinion, have gone down hill big time. The second album was very poor and lacklustre, and now the 3rd, and some might say crucial album, is even worse. i'm afraid i feel The Strokes are a 'one trick pony' band, and without the songs to back this up, they will dissapear into the musical wilderness. agree or disagree???? |

I love Is this It. Room on Fire and First Impressions on Earth ok but I hardly ever listen to them.

The Strokes are sub par band. The vocalist's voice annoys the hell out of me for some reason.
But I like the sorta retro image they're trying to revive. It's kinda cool. Anyways my favorite songs by them are The Modern Age, New York City Cops and Reptilia . Everything else I listen to in relatively small doses and then it becomes a little bit tolerable.

I have to say the strokes are one of my favourite bands, seen them live wen they toured australia, n it was an above average performance. My favourite songs would hav to be "New York City Cops" and "Last Night" . Just a note for you American fans though, they did release a version of New York City Cops in america on vinyl, there was only a few copies though cause yeh my friend has one he got of ebay.
