My only issue with the song is the vocals on the first verse/chorus. I'm okay with the idea of the falsetto, but its just weirdly thin sounding, and it doesn't get better in the chorus when he goes back into his lower register. After that, though, it's fine, and a completely decent pop song.

I dunno how they do it but they just keep getting worse. First album was decent, everything else just terribad.

Man this song is terrible. Arctic Monkeys managed to change their sound in every album, with their debut still their best, and they've yet to make a bad record. Can't say I can say the same for the Strokes, which is unfortunate.

It's different anyway. I don't think necessarily bad, I feel it's got a growing power. Not sure about the vocals but I'll wait to I hear the album as a whole before jumping to rash conclusions.

As for the Arctic Monkeys, in my opinion they've still to make a good record.

The synth line was used a million times but at least the structure is good... let's see when more songs will come out.

It's the same Strokes formula from 2001, only with disgusting falsetto and synth!

I definitely don't think it's their best work, but it's a decent song. No way I'm writing them off yet, especially when we've only heard one song off the new album.

Meh-- I am not crazy about it. I'm with you. I love The Strokes and I'm willing to give the album a listen. The synth towards the end does become too much for me, which is odd, because I love synth pop-- just not this particular song.

Id say it's the other way around

I actually think, this song is the logical progress in these days.
I like how they try to do something new and for me it worked out perfectly fine.

The only thing I always wonder is: Are those bands aware of how the put the audience in a situation where they either HATE it or LOVE it and is this kind of situation wanted?
