I don't know about Blonde Redhead for 'heavy indie rock' :\
They're gorgeous and definitely worth a listen, but they're not that.

Hm...maybe some 'Atombombpocketknife'?
They're just a little heavier but they still have that hint of indie.
And maybe 'Fin Fang Foom'?

Give The Slides a listen: on their myspace page - theslidesuk, or The Slides dot com and if you like what you hear you can download the forthcoming single, Slow Bullet, for free at MVine dot com, right up until the release date on 17th April.

I guess you'd describe them as energy indie rock. Or something. Anyway, they're definately worth checking out.
