Right now North America is kicking the **** out of Europe musically, you can hardly even compare the two. Take the best band Europe has put out recently, and compare it to the best band North America has, and North America would win. It was the same way in the 60s, with bands like The Velvet Underground and The Stooges breaking barriers, and setting the stage for punk music (among other things). In the 70s we had the best punk bands, Proto-Punk, No Wave, etc. The only thing Europe has ALWAYS beaten North America in is pop music. |
