Wolf Parade is damn good, but I still would rather listen to the four or so songs off Funeral that I liked.

Explosions in the Sky>>>Sigur Ros.

I still havent come around to Franz. I got turned off from the very beginning, so I'm a bit skeptical to look into their most recent work. Les Savy Fav, I think, are much better. And Moving Units? Far better than both. The comparison is there, but M.U. can be a lot more electro wave-ish when they want to be.

BLASPHEMY! Moving Units are nowhere near as good as LSF.

I wouldn't bother if I were you, they aren't up to much.

They`re not that bad really.

Better than the Arctic Monkeys album anyway

So, Wolf Parade thread hasn't been bumped since 2006...RIP

I quite liked their first two albums and hated Expo 86.

Just spinning Cry Cry Cry, the new album, for the first time.

Any of you Wolf Parade fans like Dan's side project w/Britt Daniel/Spoon =

Divine Fits (album: A Thing Called Divine Fits) Superduo

Think both musicians are at their finest combined, bringing out greater/different
strengths than with their own bands.

It'll sound a little dated, now, but I was able to keep it in rotation for about 2 years
and will still give an occasional listen, while hoping they'll do more.

In that vein, who else are you listening to?

I've never heard of that, gonna check that out!

I think my favorite side project I've encountered so far is definitely Sunset Rubdown. They put out 2-3 very solid albums. I've also heard Swan Lake and Handsome Furs. Frog Eyes are great too, but I'm unsure where they overlap in terms of personnel.

Here is a chart that may contain other side projects, but there may be a few weak links (like one album of shared credits).

I can't say I've been listening to anything similar lately.

But here are some random stuffs I have enjoyed recently:

Neil Cicierega - Mouth Moods
Aphex Twin - Collapse EP
Sophie - Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
Converge - The Dusk In Us
Animals as Leaders - The Joy of Motion

Also, on Wolf Parade.

Their first album is really great. It's an art rock album with a lot of forward momentum. Listen to this one first if you are just stumbling on this thread!

With At Mount Zoomer they really opened up their style, and they get great results on a number of tracks, but it's too ambitious to not be bloated with filler. I think I admire the album more than I enjoy listening to it. I was obsessed with it when it came out but I've grown to prefer their debut.

Thanks...yeh; "stumbling on" is about the Only way I'm finding anything here! Pretty new and not navigating so well! Stumbling on is how I just found how to contact web (I guess, administrators) to ask if there's any IT/Tech forum, so I can learn things w/o having to ask members (and any time I do, crossing fingers they'll be friendly and help me out!)

I just stumbled on this, again, b/c I'm not finding how to check off which forums/posts/threads I'd like to receive e-mail notifications on or even on posts/thread I've been on, so I haven't been getting any mb notifications at all (as I do from a coupla other community sites, which I have managed to figure out more easily). I'm pretty much just looking for any band name I recognize and jumping on! Just got lucky that I revisited this thread today.

I haven't been too big into last couple of years; I'm really all-over-the-place music listening but do lean garage-y sounds and veer to British w/sometimes, lately, Canadian, but I do like that first one you included-thanks. While I'm waiting to hear back from administrator(s) if you care to help me w/IT, appreciate!

For this website I use:

https://www.musicbanter.com/usercp.php

It's in the top left corner too.

This keeps track of threads you have participated in by default.

Wolf Parade is just a step above Greta Van Fleet.
