80s hardcore is my favorite genre of music. I listen to some modern hardcore, but not a lot.

Ugh, another fan of late 80s New York Hardcore. Why can't people check out something other than DC, New York or CA hardcore.

Texas had a great hardcore scene. Very underrated compared to the big 3.

Everyone should know Texas along with Florida were amazing areas for hardcore during the early 80s, even better than LA and Boston etc. Personally I think most New York hardcore is pretty bad.

Anyway hardcore (not including emo or metalcore) I listen to, Between The Wars, Gang Green, From Ashes Rise, Gorilla Biscuits, American Nightmare/Give Up The Ghost, Good Clean Fun, Carry On, Refused, Comeback Kid, Stretch Arm Strong, Circle Jerks, Youth Of Today, and Teen Idles.

Texas bands like The Dicks, Big Boys, The Hates, Verbal Abuse, Cringe. Florida is good too, like Hated Youth, Roach Motel, No Fraud and The Eat et cetera. Quite a few of those bands are among my favourite hardcore bands.

I have to admit though LA is up there too, lots of great bands from LA.
